Job description

Overview:
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is hiring an Associate to join the Lending Management Group in the Corporate & Investment Banking Division and will cover the Oil & Gas industry. This position will work with Relationship Managers (RM's) as a liaison from the division's Lending Management Group (LMG) to facilitate a greater number of client opportunities for the Bank.

Responsibilities:
Provide support in managing and executing transactions from beginning to closing including building and maintaining financial models.

Execution of transaction closing and legal documentation.

Monitor and evaluate current events related to the specific assigned sector and advise RM of these events.

Manage the preparation of credit applications, borrower rating applications, annual and quarterly client reviews.

Oversee junior analysts on the team to drive transactions forwarded to completion.

End to end ownership of the portfolio and clients under assignment, from the point of origination to deal closing to ongoing monitoring.

Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas industry.

Ability to organize thoughts, clearly articulate points, and provide summaries and explanations of transactions, verbally or in writing, to management or other internal departments.

Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail and an ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines.

Strong finance and accounting skills with an ability to read and interpret financial statements and perform credit analysis proficiently.

Excellent research skills.

Ability to execute transactions from beginning to end with minimal supervision.

Outstanding financial modeling/valuation and analytical skill.

Knowledge and skill in legal documentation.

Able to quickly learn and adapt to new processes and systems.

Strong intellectual curiosity.
