A fast-growing, dynamic team is working with Robert Half to find a Financial Analyst, who will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. Located in the Houston, Texas, area, this Financial Analyst role is a short-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity. The Financial Analyst will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. In this position, you will also advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management. What you get to do every day
- Study performance to date and examine potential risks and opportunities
- Adaptable applicant skilled in dealing with large amounts of information and meeting expectations
- Work with the Accounting group to lead the monthly and quarterly close process
- Review annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations
- Authenticate routine Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
- Participate in planning with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
- Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
- Gather and oversee forecasting reports
- Work with contacts in Accounting and Operations to support business plans
- Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Power monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
Requirements
- Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience considered)
- Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
- Accounting Entries experience
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, macros)
- Journal entries experience
- Ad Hoc Reporting experience required
- Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system
- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
