JOB DESCRIPTION - Lab Technician/Chemist (1758)

Location: United States Texas - Houston

Position Summary:

Labtopia Staffing has several immediate openings for Laboratory Technicians and Chemists in the Greater Houston area. We are seeking individuals with any of the following skills, experience or education.

Essential Functions:

• Assist with analyzing samples which can include but are not limited to raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods
• Conduct timely and accurate testing of samples
• Prepare reagents, buffers, indicators, etc. as needed
• Instrumentation can include but is not limited to GC, GC/MS, HPLC, LC, auto titrator, distillation, rheometer, Karl Fisher, specific gravity, colorimeter, refractometer, flash point, pour point, etc.
• Store and maintain retain samples as required
• Maintain data integrity will all sample analyses
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

Qualifications:

• Candidates with an AS or BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or other related field are highly encouraged to apply
• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience will be considered in lieu of college degree
• Either academic or industry lab experience is required

Skills and Abilities:

• Candidates need to be reliable, able to take initiative, and have transportation.
• Entry-level candidates are desired
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must have strong attention to details and ability to multi-task
• Ideal Candidate would be computer proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
• Ability to think critically and logically

Type of Assignment:

• Temporary, Temp-hire, Contract, and Direct hire opportunities are available

Shift Schedule:

Shift schedule is assignment specific but can include nights, weekends, and OT

Salary:
