Role

Responsible for the loan file, its completeness and accuracy, and adherence to Loan Officers terms. Completes the loan application process by closing the loan, disbursing the funds and preparing the file for imaging and permanent storage.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews the loan file and closing documents for accuracy and completion of underwriting requirements prior to closing.

Meets with the buyers, sellers to close the loan. This includes having all the necessary documents signed and collection of necessary funds according to the loan settlement statement.

Review closer pipeline reports weekly to manage flow of anticipated closings. Communicate closely with processors and closing assistants regarding file status to gauge changes that may occur. Keep information in the origination system current so the pipeline reports are accurate.

Review underwriter's notes for accuracy of loan terms and requirements; ensure that all underwriting requirements have been satisfactorily resolved.

Cross-sell accidental death debt protection, insurance products, and other services. Present pre-authorized payment methods and deposit services.

Ensure loan payment is setup correctly according to member requests.

Use pre-closing and post-closing checklists, to ensure accuracy of closing documents. Assimilate loan documents in proper order to prepare for actual closing.

Provides notarization on closing documents where needed.

Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills Experience

Two to Five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Education/Certifications/Licenses

A high school degree or GED is required.
Interpersonal Skills

Capable of acting as a mediator as potential problems arise between buyers, sellers, and realtors.
Other Skills

Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations (adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, percentages) in preparation of closing.
