GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develops and maintain business member relationships with a primary focus on lending while providing financial services and products to help the credit union manage and expand services to current members. Maintaining relationships and leadership presence in the local community. This role will also support administration of the current and future business /commercial portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acquisition, expansion, and retention of commercial relationships using a proactive approach.
- Analyzes credit history of applicants and determines loan repayment capabilities.
- Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
- Evaluates potential business loan requests and makes loan recommendations to management.
- Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and cash flow analysis.
- Work closely with new and existing business customers to understand their financial needs, forging trustful relationships and communication.
- Provide recommendations and assist small business customers with financial solutions to satisfy their spending, saving, and borrowing needs.
- Oversee and participate in banking activities related to onboarding new clients including account opening activities, necessary due diligence, and engaging other partners, as necessary.
- Leverage problem-solving and strong communication skills to resolve customer issues.
- Present a professional, friendly, and helpful appearance with every interaction.
- Assists in the collection of past due loans and loss mitigation strategies.
- Assists in the monitoring of existing loan portfolio for delinquencies.
- Actively manages existing business and commercial lending relationships to ensure compliance to documentation requirements, policy, and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 3-5 years of proven Commercial Lending experience and leadership in financial services industry, SBA lending experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures.
- A significant level of trust, diplomacy and confidentiality is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales and service experience, preferably working with business clients.
- Ability to effectively engage with customers and identify needs to enhance the small business relationship and become a trusted advisor for the business member.
- Ability to problem solve and provide solutions to business member issues.
- Desire to build strong relationships with teammates through collaboration.
