Job description
We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Technical Service Manager - Industrial Composites for our Advanced Materials Division at our Huntsman Advanced Technology Center located in The Woodlands, TX.
As the Technical Service Manager for P&E, you will act as an internal technical expert for delivery of technical services in the Americas for Industrial composite market segment to meet customer needs and support growth of the business. Managing complex technical challenges, working closely with technical personals at customer end to ensure needs of customers are met appropriately and Huntsman product qualifications are delivered quickly and effectively. Provide feedback and work with lab teams to deliver fast track product developments and technical work requests quickly and efficiently. Represent TS function at trade exhibitions, speaks regularly at conferences to promote Huntsman products & technology. Support execution of the TS elements of promotion plans and works with field salesperson to ensure their effective delivery. Engages customers at technical level to understand future customer / market needs and provide insight to product development leaders and marketing to develop AdMat technology strategy.
Description of Position Duties:
Provide technical service to customer, sales, and distributors in the region
Engage R&D / Technical people at customers (Virtual/in-person) to promote new & existing products, help to solve formulation problems and identify new technology opportunities to address unmet needs
Work with Field sales personal to promote Huntsman products at Customers/ Trades shows/ conferences.
Work with S&M to execute promotion plans for Composite segments
Develop clear, concise, and effective technical communication materials to support promotion activities
Provide technical support for hot line telephone inquiries
Provide regular training on Value proposition of Huntsman products to field sales personals
Help to support product development and technical work requests
Engage with lab associates to meet the demands of short term / less complex product tuning for immediate customer opportunities
Engage with lab associates to generate data requested and required to support Huntsman product promotion to customers.
Support to investigate customer complaints and other technical tasks supporting the current business
Administrative duty
Prepare Monthly reports, customer visit and call reports
Maintain up-to-date field promotion active log for all visits, call, and customer interactions
Ensure full compliance with our Ethics & Compliance policy
Qualifications for the ideal candidate?
Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific discipline and 10+ years of progressively responsible roles in Research and Technology
Fully qualified professional with minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible roles in Research & Technology; proven track record in technical service and/or product development
Strong fundamentals on thermoset and tougheners chemistries and applications, preferably with a focus on Composite and applications
Strong understanding of Composite manufacturing, applications and testing requirement is must. Application and testing understanding of various toughening technology is plus.
A passion for innovation & technology combined with a track record of successful conversion of opportunity to technical approvals, introduction of new products, expanding applications horizons for current technologies and applications
Demonstrated collaboration with marketing and sales to define future opportunities for new technology, products, and applications
Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Technical service manager is an active member of the regional Technical service team, proactively engaging with Customers, Sales, Manufacturing, product innovation and commercial leaders to support, develop and execute plans for promotion of new and existing products in support of business growth objectives.
Experience required to focus on project execution, technical decision making and addressing complex technical challenges / opportunities in very effective and efficient way.
Strong technical skills to guide customers through introduction of Huntsman products, help solving customer formulations problems and qualification of our products
The role will require a mixture of strong technical background, strong communication skills and technical problem solving
