Primary Functions: The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for ensuring freight is received in the correct manner, look for damages, consignee information, check weight, DIM, and process in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for shipping the correct freight, keep work areas clean, and ensure that supplies and mechanics are kept in working order. Basic Qualifications: A highly effective Warehouse Specialist position will be efficient and detailed oriented, have an interest in the logistics industry and strives to provide best in class service to BNSF Logistics customers and suppliers. Position Responsibilities: Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing. Following safety and TSA regulations. Maintain warehouse supply level. Ensure mechanical appliances are in working order. Keep warehouse clean and organized. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped. File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program. Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Education and/or Experience Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc.,. 12+ months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
