FULL TIME - Location: 301 W. Hurst Blvd., Hurst, TX - Factory -

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to be responsible for purchasing raw materials and MRO supplies for our paint manufacturing business. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, maintaining an inventor, liaising with inventory teams and management. The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Initiates purchase orders for materials and supplies, does daily gemba-walks to check the status of inventory.
Ensures on-time delivery of placed orders through communication with suppliers (phone calls, email correspondence)
Interpret the demand requirements via coordination with manufacturing and material planning
Maintain relationships with existing suppliers
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as packing lists, bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, etc.
Ability to manage and resolve supply issues, strong communicator and team player.
Responsible for cost integrity and reporting any inconsistencies between supplier and system.
Perform backup duties for certain positions, to ensure on-going production.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience
Strong analytical, management and organization skills
Multi-tasking capabilities, able to work to a deadline
At least 5 years' buying experience in a manufacturing operation
Well-developed ability to use computer and software applications including ERP systems (Oracle or SAP experience is preferred) and Microsoft Office suite
Work cohesively with members of various departments
Can effectively communicate (written/verbal) information critical to an operation
Ability to adjust and react to sudden operational changes
Experience in working in capacity constrained manufacturing environment
Experience in a process manufacturing environment
