Responsibilities: We have a fantastic opportunity for a Development Director, Ctes du Coeur (Heart Ball) in our Irving, TX office. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing development prospects for Ctes du Coeur, the largest Heart Ball in the nation. This campaign brings together corporate partners, community leaders, philanthropists, and volunteers to bring awareness and spread the mission of the American Heart Association. This role will create a vision and strategy translating it into specific action plans for each account.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with AHA colleagues and volunteer leaders to accomplish campaign results for Ctes du Coeur and drive results for the division as a whole.
  • Recruitment of high-level volunteer and philanthropists.
  • Revenue generation through corporate and individual donor sponsorships.
  • Conduct sales calls to generate new business and upgrade existing company partnerships by engaging them in the mission of the AHA.
  • Develop and manage relationships with volunteers, philanthropists, sponsors and key corporate & community leaders.
  • Track, report and manage results using a variety of database and campaign management systems with a proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
  • Account sponsorship support including deliverables for event sponsorships including but not limited implementation, volunteer partnerships and evaluation post-event for constant improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: Requirements:
  • The ability to secure corporate donations through participating in and leading top-level ($25,000+) sponsorship asks.
  • Results driven with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong knowledge of DFW area business, medical, and philanthropic communities.
  • Demonstrated skills in cultivating major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships (six figures).
  • Excellent organization, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Have a collaborative approach to working with other internal partners, such as with Heart Walk, Go Red for Women, Health Strategies and Youth Market Teams to help drive specific AHA cause initiatives in defined markets.
  • A proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 3 + years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position s educational requirement.
  • Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is essential.
  • Willing and able to travel within the DFW market to engage c-suite corporate executives to accomplish goals approximately 75% of the time.
  • Able to work non-standard hours such as early starts and/or late endings to the workday as needed.
  • Able to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Intermediate knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
