Responsibilities

Summary of Position:

The HR Assistant will work under general supervision of the HR Director primarily providing administrative support and will be a liaison to the HR Department as a whole.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles a wide range of administrative and support tasks for the HR Department.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and executes on tasks involving a large volume of highly confidential and time-sensitive information.
  • Provides multi-faceted administrative support and assistance to ensure effective use of HR Director's time.
  • Ability to see overall goals and appropriate details; maintain systems and processes to ensure completion of projects.
  • Proactively manages calendars, schedules, and appointments by anticipating and prioritizing areas of focus.
  • Coordinates meetings, appointments, business travel arrangements for HR Director and ensures related expense reports are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Processes HR department applications and enrollment forms and maintains HR team personnel files and employment documents.
  • Conducts research and information gathering on behalf of the HR Director and prepares summaries, reports, and presentations.
  • Develops positive and strategic relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Assists with department special projects and cross trains as necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors' degree required, Human Resources or Business-related discipline preferred.
  • 2-3 years of administrative experience required, HR administrative experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (i.e. compensation, performance reviews, counseling notices, promotions, etc.).
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to requests/questions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Team player with strong work ethic.
  • Ability to respond to requests/questions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment.

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of an office. Also requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and/or carry items less than 25 pounds. Finger dexterity in operating a computer keyboard and calculator. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, completing paperwork and to receive/return phone messages. Standing is required for filing and copying.
