Utilizing local offices with non-commissioned sales representatives, they offer a wide variety of retirement savings plans and services, including 401(k), 403(b), and 457(b) deferred compensation plans. Mutual of America also provides investment vehicles to individuals for their retirement and other long-term financial needs.

Our Dallas, TX office is one of 33 Regional Offices and several Branch Offices located across the continental United States, (in addition to our New York City Headquarters and our Boca Raton, Florida location). You'll report to the Regional Office Head and join a dedicated team of professionals who are all full of energy and enthusiasm and are highly driven to succeed.

Responsibilities:

The Retirement Plan Sales Associate will represent Mutual of America in a sales and marketing capacity to clients and prospects in an assigned territory with an emphasis on soliciting new group takeover plans and cross-selling other products.

  1. Setting qualified appointments with plan sponsors of 401k and 403b Plans through multiple strategies, cold calling, networking, and referral
  2. Work within a geographic territory to cultivate new prospects, cross-sell solutions, reach and exceed goals and close sales.
  3. Attend client review meetings with Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) for the top five to ten clients in the GAR's territory to position the GAR to ask clients for introductions and to be a reference for sales opportunities

Required Qualifications:

  1. Two or more years of outside business-to-business sales experience with proven proficiency in selling, presentation skills, prospecting, and territory management
  2. Conducting outbound cold calls into prospective clients
  3. Highly motivated
  4. Ability to effectively communicate
  5. Strategic thinker who can work independently
  6. Strong relationship building and territory management skills
  7. Active FINRA Series 6 and 63 or must obtain within the first 90 days of employment
  8. Active State Life and Health Insurance License (in all states covered) required or obtained within 90 days of employment
  9. Valid driver's license required

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree preferred
  2. Demonstrated cold calling sales ability, with assertive, positive, and persistent style
  3. Knowledge of products underwritten by the company (401k and 403b retirement plans)
