This position can be located remotely or at an Amazon office within the contiguous United States.

Can you take pricing scenarios on competitive proposals and craft a winning strategy for business development efforts?
As a Technical Business Development Manager within the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) focused on Competitive Intelligence & Pricing, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver strategy for using market intelligence to programmatically scale AWS's cloud computing business. Your responsibilities will include supporting the AWS Sales, Marketing, Business Development (BD), and products teams on internal business development efforts, competitive pricing, and customer and partner engagements. You will serve as an expert resource on competitive intelligence and pricing of cloud, IT applications and infrastructures, working with our internal customers and field teams to develop cost effective, winning strategies for adopting or migrating to AWS.
You will synthesize data and information from intelligence gathering, competitive analysis, and customer engagements into succinct findings and persuasively communicate cost effective scenarios and strategies to sales, product teams and senior management. You will track and prioritize competitive customer engagements that require your expertise. You will develop programs that leverage this learning across the business.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Serve as lead of the competitive pricing solutions team and key member of the cloud intelligence team, helping drive WWPS Sales engagements internally and with customers and partners.
• Understand the business and technical requirements of AWS services, including the distinct requirements of the public/non-profit sector, and determine how their needs can best be met.
• Identify the technical/use case differences of AWS services vs. others and build standard pricing templates and competitive architectures to be used in competitive bids.
• Work with AWS Sales teams to handle customer questions or concerns about AWS pricing, as compared to our competitors.
• Work closely with the sales team to drive closure on our highest priority opportunities.
• Work with AWS Sales, BD, and Marketing teams, to drive proactive competitive pricing conversations and sales messaging with our customers.
• Create a repository of cloud intelligence and competitive pricing cases studies and product/market analysis to share learnings with all parts of AWS.
• Serve as a key source of pricing insights into how our customers view the benefits of using AWS relative to the broader cloud computing market.
• Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 7 + years' experience in pre-sales solution engineering, solution architecture, or business development
• 7+ years experience with cloud computing industry technology.
• 2+ or more years experience with competitive pricing, intelligence or cloud industry dynamics.
• Demonstrated technical understanding of cloud computing concepts in general and/or AWS specific technologies, platforms, and solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant business, computer science, or engineering disciplines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• • 3 years demonstrated experience in competitive analysis and pricing in the IT industry, and deep understanding of leading cloud computing platforms.
• • Demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable insights and crisp presentations. Strong analytic skills, demonstrated track record of harnessing data to drive decision making.
• • MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and analytics

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $120,,000.00 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
