Job description

Travel would be mostly domestic and on a limited basis as needed

Hours: Regular 8am - 5pm; Monday - Friday
OT: On a case by case basis

Summary:
-Engineer needs strong PRO E CAD skills.
-Must be able to work independently.
-Must be willing to travel.
-Must have design skills.
-Knowledge of Windchill is a plus.

Requirements:
Requires thorough understanding and application of standard engineering or scientific theories, concepts, principles and techniques. Requires the ability to develop and resolve solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works under general direction with defined objectives. Approach is consistent with established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy. Contacts are primarily internal and may be outside of the immediate work group or organization. Rather infrequent external contacts.
Assist engineers and designers in the design, development, prototyping, construction follow-up, installation, and start-up of production equipment and processes, and implement project plan, insuring he satisfaction of all project objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
Routinely performs design calculations; i.e., statics, hydraulics, power transmission.
Provides accurate estimates of the time required and costs to complete assigned work.
Generates part or assembly drawings using AutoCAD or Solidworks
Follows fabrication of prototype equipment.
Conducts tests, collects and evaluates data and makes recommendations.
Generates shop drawings and parts lists.
Assembles complete machine design packages from existing Plant files, checking drawings for accuracy and adding detail and assembly drawings where necessary.
Ensures that all machine drawings conform to *** Machine Drafting Standards
Confers with vendors in the final selection of commercial components and writes purchase requisitions.

Must Haves:
1. Mechanical Engineering degree required (4 year)
2. SolidWorks (preferred) OR AutoCAD experience. Candidates will also be using Windchill and Creo as well but this is not required.
3. Good verbal and written communication skills
4. 5+ years of experience with design, fabrication of mechanical of systems and components.
