Analytical Laboratory Technician - LaPorte, TX
Analytical Laboratory Technician - This role is a full-time, long-term contract at one of our Global clients in LaPorte, TX.
As an Analytical Laboratory Technician placed with one of our clients, you will be responsible for the following:
Summary:
The technician will run routine analysis to support the client's monomeric/polyurethanes (MMDI), Waste Water, and Utilities plants.
Responsibilities:
- Routine analyses for monomers (MMDI) that include GC, titration, HPLC, viscosity, AA, colorimetry, and FT-NIR
- Routine analyses for Waste Water that include conductivity, pH, ion selective probe, and spectrophotometry
- Responsible for calibration/standardization/minor maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Other duties as assigned supervisor
Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Basic knowledge of analytical laboratory techniques (GC, titration, HPLC, etc.) - training will be provided; however, the candidate must have some experience
- Basic computing skills in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Must be capable of applying basic math skills
- Self-starter
- Reliable - this is a 24-hr process site
- Able to work independently on shift
- Multi-task and detail-oriented
- Have good troubleshooting skills
Education/Certification/Experience Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must have a High School diploma
- Two or more years of laboratory experience desired
- Some level of college education in chemistry or biology is desired; however, if candidate has sufficient laboratory experience, this can be substituted in lieu of college education
Shift/hours details: The is a rotating shift position, alternating between day and night shifts; overtime will also be involved.
