Job description

Wilhoit Properties Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Property Manager for our Highland Village apartment community in Longview, TX.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the assisting the Property Manager in the management of the property including personnel management, marketing, leasing, budgeting, fiscal management, and administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leasing agent that is looking to make the move into management, existing property managers looking to move to a larger location, or an individual with a strong background in management looking to get into the property management field.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the management of a busy leasing office
  • Rent collections, including the filing of evictions in compliance with company policy
  • Supervision of the maintenance staff
  • Develop & maintain marketing plans to ensure stable a stable occupancy level
  • Resolving resident issues in a quick and consistent manner
  • Work with outside vendors, procure bids for authorized work
  • Coordinate vacant unit turnover process with maintenance
  • Provide tours of the property to prospective residents
  • Posting rental payments & taking deposits to the bank
  • Schedule rent increases, re-certifications and lease renewals
  • Physically inspect and walk the property on a daily basis
  • Corresponding with the Property Manager regarding any issues at the property

Desired Qualifications:

  • Property management and leasing experience is a big plus
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Experience using property management software such as Yardi, Onesite, or Yeildstar
  • General knowledge of repair and apartment maintenance

Requirements:

  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Property management experience preferred
  • Strong administrative & organizational abilities
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Analytical & problem solving skills
  • Ability to speak effectively to all clients, ability to write clear and professional business correspondence, ability to understand contracts and documents typical to the management of real estate
  • Professional attire and demeanor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
