Job description

We are looking for a experienced HR Manager who understands HR law, benefit administration, recruiting, administering disciplinary procedures and employee development.

Job Summary

Plans and directs human resources activities for the corporation.

Essential Duties

* Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering company policy and helping resolve work-related problems.
* Benefit administration to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
* Advises managers on organizational policy matters such as EEOC and sexual harassment and recommends needed changes.
* Assists managers with understaffing, refereeing disputes, and administering disciplinary procedures and or recommend termination.
* Plans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
* Ensures annual performance appraisals are completed.
* Makes recommendations or approves plans for staff training and professional development.
* Knowledge of state & federal employment law including Texas and Louisiana.
* Ensures staff is kept informed of changes and updates.
* Provides consultative services and/or meets with concerned parties to discuss issues and requests and determine best course of action for effective resolution.
* Maintains records concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
* Plans company events.
* Conducts exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.

Job Qualifications

* Education: Bachelor's degree, preferred
* Certification, SHRM-SCP
* Experience: 5-7 years' experience in human resources
