Healthcare Accounting Clerk

Job description

We are currently seeking an entry-level Accounting Clerk for a growing healthcare company in New Braunfels, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing accounts payable/receivable, preparing checks, cash receipts, general journal entries and related expenditure vouchers.
• Creating and receiving purchase orders in SAGE accounting system
• Receiving cash and credit card receipts and maintaining cash control records.
• Preparing deposits and bank reconciliations; and other duties as appropriate for an Accountant I.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and timely.
• Collecting, posting and managing account payments, and submitting claims and following up with insurance companies.
• Answering questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies
• Prepares, reviews and sends patient statements.
• Performs various collection actions including contacting patients by phone.
• Processes payments from insurance companies and prepares a daily deposit
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)
• Accounts Payable: 3 years (Preferred)
