Job description
This position is accountable for the day-to-day maintenance activity with emphasis on HSE, quality of work, productivity, and cost control ultimately leading to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). This position plans, schedules, and supervises plant maintenance and is responsible for 4-5 crafts persons including mechanical and instrument/electrical crew, plus as needed contracted maintenance. Expect to spend approximately 50% time in the field, and 50% at desk/meetings. General job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Manage hourly personnel. Lead, develop, coach, & support subordinates. Provide resources for skill development. Interview new hire candidates. Conduct annual performance reviews.
- Create and maintain accountability culture. Use recognition and/or progressive discipline as needed.
- Perform personnel related administrative duties such as review/approve timecards and review/approve vacations.
- Implement and maintain components of Mechanical Integrity (MI) as agreed to by Orange Management Team (OMT). Establish piping and vessel monitoring/ inspection program. Ensure inspection and testing of process equipment will follow manufacturers' recommendations and good engineering practices, including Eco Services and Chem32 piping/valve specifications. Ensure appropriate checks and inspections are performed to assure equipment is installed properly and consistent with design specifications. Coordinate QA/QC work such as dye penetrant, x-rays, pressure testing, etc
- Implement and maintain components of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as agreed to by OMT especially Planning and Scheduling (P&S). Create and maintain Equipment Files. File equipment manuals, spec sheets, inspection results, drawings. Audit and maintain adequate critical spare parts and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Identify Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) opportunities per company Guidelines
- Serve as site Scheduler. Host weekly P&S meetings. Build 5 days schedule balancing Predictive/Preventative Maintenance (PM) needs and Operation's prioritized work order needs. Track completed vs incomplete work. Track Break Ins. Coordinate downtime with Operations
- Supervise day to day maintenance contracted work (eg insulators, scaffold builders, etc) with emphasis on HSE and quality of work.
- Custodian for the Predictive/Preventative Maintenance (Pd/PM) program. Write new PMs. Schedule PMs. Audit & Optimize PM frequency and duration. Lead, execute, maintain, and improve Reliability Programs, such as lubrication and vibration and thermography. Ensure interlock check documents are maintained and last date of check on Interlock Matrix
- Assist site engineers, as needed, with project work (identifying preferred suppliers, etc)
- Responsible for most economical allocation of department finances and actively look for cost reduction opportunities. Obtain multiple quotes per purchasing guidelines. Write associated part and/or service requisitions. Review and pay associated invoices.
- Promote 5 Why Analysis and/or Fishbone Analysis among Maintenance Team
- Stay current on email
- This position at times will require work hours above the standard salaried week to accomplish objective and ensure high performance of the plant. This includes carrying a cell phone.
- Available for call out work
- Fill in for hourly personnel as needed. Expected to be on tools and/or in PPE as needed.
- Ensure personnel are trained to cover for you in your absence.
- Serve as site Planner. Review each work order. Provide detailed job plan instructions. Arrange for special tools/equipment/rentals as needed. Estimate job duration and manpower needs. Ensure hours actually worked are recorded. Establish relationships with local contractors & suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on maintenance field experience in a manufacturing environment.
3 years of experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance work environment.
Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
Highschool diploma or GED
