Job Summary

The Analytical Chemist Scientist acts as the lead scientist in the analytical chemistry lab and assists activities in the thermal laboratory. This position executes verifications and validations of standard methods and may be required to develop novel methodologies The Analytical Chemist Scientist designs, plans, performs and interprets scientific experiments for the advanced analytical analysis of starting materials, in-process materials, and finished materials. Perform material analysis by utilizing spectroscopy, chromatographic method development and execution. This position reports to the Director of Thermal Sciences.

Responsibilities

Independently operates analytical instrumentation and trains new technicians on HPLC, NMR, GC/MS, SEM, Raman, DMA and wet chemistry methods. Develops non-standard procedures of higher complexity, which requires studying multiple variables and critical attributes to achieve functional deliverables. Upon completion, work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. Provides technical leadership by troubleshooting problems and developing thorough, practical solutions that are consistent with organization objectives and require creativity. Executes studies and conducts testing without deviation. Analyzes data from multiple, complex studies to derive a decision on functional deliverable. Thoroughly and clearly documents experiments in laboratory work according to GDP requirements. Writes sections of official methods and SOPs related to function deliverables. Communicates and collaborates with colleagues within the function and within sub-teams. Conducts all lab work while observing GDP, GLP, GMP, ISO, FDA, NSF and other relevant regulatory standards.

Preferred Experience:

  • Highly skilled in chromatographic (HPLC, UPLC, GC, GC/MS) analysis
  • Highly skilled in spectroscopy instrumentation (NMR, Raman, SEM). Prior experience working in a regulated laboratory settings a plus
  • Prior experience in 1 or 2 phase immersion cooling industry is a plus

Minimum Requirements

  • MS degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • 8+ years of directly related experience

Preferred Requirements
