General Summary:

The Manager, Business Strategy will work closely with the Director of Business Strategy to develop long-range objectives and strategic plans for HCA by identifying strategic issues and/or opportunities that could affect future growth and profitability. This role will include responsibilities such as cross-functional strategy management, market surveillance/ entry development, competitor benchmark, internal capability gap assessment and strategic initiatives development. These responsibilities will require strong problem solving skill, qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills, and written/verbal communication skill. Also, this role requires an ability to run the project independently with clients being top-level executives; therefore, he or she should have strong project management skill and good interpersonal skill. This role will also develop presentations for senior executives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide short and long-term strategic recommendations to internal teams for new business or business improvement opportunities: Develop business cases to improve HCA's market presence and profitability, also provide insightful qualitative analysis
  • Lead and effectively manage cross-functional strategy projects: Encourage all engaged teams actively to participate and collaborate in the projects and build constructive consensus aligning all participating teams
  • Effectively communicate to internal teams, executives and global leaders on project key findings and recommendation in written and verbal communication formats
  • Perform best practices benchmarking studies by leveraging all available sources including internal/public information and SME interviews, and provide valuable implications for HCA to close the gaps against best-in-class market players
  • Identify areas for improvement for HCA regarding both top and bottom lines by assessing any internal issues residing across the organization and proactively communicate strategic solutions to key stakeholders

  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Experiences in long-term corporate / business strategies and framework
    • Proven track record of leading or managing complex, cross-functional projects and teams
    • Prior experience managing competitive intelligence and best practice benchmark studies
    • Primary and secondary research techniques
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
    • Presentation to senior executive, global leaders and industry conferences


    Qualifications

    • BS/BA required, Masters strongly preferred in Business
    • 5-10 years of experience in Corporate/Business Strategy, Strategic Planning in Sales & Marketing, Business
    • Management consulting experience is a plus
    • Financial Services, Captive or Automotive Industry experience preferred
    Physical Requirements and Working Condition:

    Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
