RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter in Plano, TX. Responsibilities:

• Mortgage Underwriter ensures that the assets reviewed meet all applicable investor guidelines, through a complete knowledge of requirements and regulations
• Held accountable for quality and accuracy of decisions; Decisions full range of loans, conventional loans (FNMA and FHLMC); VA or FHA designations are preferred but not a requirement
• Review all mortgage applications and documentation for accuracy and completeness
• As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will work with customer interface personnel to prepare mortgage applications and related documentation as needed, help resolve any outstanding issues
• Work with compliance officers to ensure Federal, State, and local compliance of all mortgage and loan materials
• Decision and Status mortgages on a timely basis
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of each loan
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
• Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years of Conventional mortgage underwriting experience required
• Solid knowledge of mortgage underwriting and of basic automated underwriting systems
• Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with basic automated underwriting systems
• Knowledge of state and federal agency mortgage loan guidelines and regulations helpful
• Organized and detail oriented
• Ability to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
