Role Overview and Responsibilities:
This position will be an integral part of the set-up and implementation of a new plant that will be transferring from another location in Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to join in the fostering of a new culture in a new facility as well as the opportunity to grow with our company and our products.
Summary/Objective
This role will help improve the sites quality performance metrics by taking a proactive approach to address issue in the manufacturing line through quality projects focused on yield improvement and other key quality metrics. Will also support quality assurance requirements as needed to ensure products are built in accordance with customer and company quality requirements while maintaining production flow
Essential Functions
Devotes the major portion of his/her time on managing quality projects focused on yield improvement, reducing process variation, process capability, muv/scrap reduction and in line quality.
Will measure, analysis and report data trends for quality projects and recommend improvement actions to quality manger.
Will help coordinate all in line quality initiatives throughout the site and work collaboratively as a team with other quality engineers, process engineers, supervisors, team leads and operators.
Will help build a strong quality culture throughout the site working closely with the quality manger on culture-based quality programs.
Participates in the review of design, manufacturing, test, and supplier documentation in ensure that company and a customer's quality requirements are fulfilled
Implement/Maintain MSA/SPC in the production line where deemed necessary by the quality manager. The quality engineers will be using statistical tools to ensure process and measurement control.
Provides guidance and assistance in selection and implementation of statistical methods to improve overall quality in Sales, Production Control, and Purchasing, as well as assigned production areas
Secondary Functions
Will cross train to other quality engineering, quality tech, quality inspector and other functions as required by the quality manager. Some secondary functions include:
Conduct Quality Audits per ISO 9001:2015 Standards - types of audits include but not limited to Process, QMS, and Supplier Quality.
Will help coordinate activities of: providing visual aids, statistical analysis of inspection results, serving as "referee" in making 'accept' or "reject" decisions
Reviews quality trends associated with assigned areas and participated in the development and implementation of defect-reduction programs. Once a defect is identified, assist in identifying the root causes of the problem and work with personnel of appropriate discipline to permanently correct the problem, including verification of effectiveness
Assists QA Manager with customer QA system audit visitations, vendor quality review visitations and responses to customer complaints
Writes quality test and inspection procedures. May also be asked to maintain and produce KPI metrics reports for the quality department and other various test/metric reporting's.

Supervisory Responsibility - No supervisory responsibility however will be asked to help coordinate workloads related to process improvement and in line inspection for both Quality Tech's and Quality Inspectors.
Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to cooler temperatures in the winter and warmer temperatures in the summer; moderate noise; extensive chemical processing; in Class 1000 - 10,000 Clean Room(s), must be comfortable wearing full class 1000 clean room suit; proper PPE as required for any other position. Employee may also be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Travel - Some travel to supplier's may be required to conduct supplier audits and work on supplier corrective actions.
