Job description
Must Have Skills:
- Residential Gateway testing experience
- Python scripting experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM)
- Understanding of DSL for communication over copper (ATM, VDSL, ADSL-1, ADSL-2).
- Understanding of VDSL (should know the difference between a single or bonded pair)
- Understanding of TR-069 protocol or Element Management Systems (EMS)
- Working knowledge of routers and switches, proficient with Wireshark
- A working knowledge of an application layer protocol (IPV4, IPV6, Dual Stack) for remote management of end-user devices.
- Understanding PON networks and ONTs
- Problem solver, quick learner and excellent researcher
- Excellent communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience creating automated test scripts with (ALM, iTest, Perl, Python, etc.).
- Robot Framework for Automation
- Experience with ATLASSIAN JIRA and HP's ALM (Application Lifestyle Management)
- Ability to prioritize and complete and execute a test plan in an AGILE environment
- Former experience working companies who create residential gateways (Arris, Pace, Cisco)
- Detailed understanding of test equipment related to access testing (Spirent Test Center (STC), Ixia, TeraVM, Diversity, Abacus)
- Linux applications for SoCs
- Broadband Standards such as TR-232, TR-098 and TR-104
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Working in the Access test group. Duties include the integration and testing of Access and Home networking products in the Lightspeed solution. This will include working with a team of Test Engineers involved in all aspects of the IPTV end to end solution. Testing activities include the development of a Test Plan, review Requirement documents and documenting defects.
- Development of test plans based on Epics, User Stories, and Requirements using Agile SAFe methodology.
- Setting policy on Element Management System (syntax, flows, Access Control List) and testing through end-to-end.
- Production like set up in lab with access gear and router rings.
- Automation of existing test cases currently being executed manually.
- Document all defects found during testing.
- Participation in document reviews including Test Plans, MOPs, Epics and User Stories
