Description

This is an entry leavel position with a starting salary of $40,000.00

Under the supervision of the HR Manager, the HR Generalist assists with support and administration of all Human Resources functions at the professional level for the purpose implementing effective personnel policies, procedures and practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists HR Management with administering recruiting efforts such as sorting resumes, phone screening of job applicants and arranging interviews and background screenings.
  2. Coordinates and maintains all new hire packages and ensures that all employee data and benefits are properly entered into the employee database.
  3. Conducts general orientation to new employees.
  4. Assists the HR Manager in collecting, organizing and presenting data or information requested by supervisors and upper management.
  5. Communicates information to employees and management to answer questions of various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations that will help with employee relations.
  6. Assists the supervisors as requested with staff changes.
  7. Participates in development of HR goals, objectives and systems to improve the efficiency of HR procedures and services provided to management and staff.
  8. Assists HR Management in monitoring all personnel actions to ensure compliance with labor laws and fair labor practices. Advise supervisors and staff as necessary.
  9. Responsible for exit process to include preparing and sending exit information guides to all exiting employees and scheduling exit interviews when required.
  10. Provides administrative support to department with greeting visitors, answering phones and updating personnel files.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.


PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

Performance will be evaluated by the HR Manager using the Performance Evaluation CdB Form No.1006c (Rev 1/2000) wherein a satisfactory overall rating is considered as a minimum acceptable level of performance.

Qualifications

A. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.

B. Experience: Bachelor's degree or a year in HR

C. Other: Knowledge of the principles and fundamentals of Human Resources. Must be familiar with all federal agencies that issue laws and regulations affecting the workplace. Must have strong working knowledge of Word, Access, and Power Point.

D. PHR-SPHR preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  2. Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position.
  3. Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  4. Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
  5. Must be able to deliver excellent customer service, externally and internally
