Job description

Who We Are:

Using chemistry and chemical engineering technologies, we perform research and evaluation services for industrial and government clients. Our scientists are pioneers in multiple chemistry fields including environmental engineering, chemical and process engineering, microencapsulation, and more.


Objectives of this Role:
  • Perform assessment of workplace hazards and R&D projects and facilities.
  • Lead and institute a positive safety and environmental compliance culture.
  • Work with Division Staff to ensure compliance with Institute safety and environmental programs.
  • Establish and conduct safety and environmental compliance training programs.
  • Participate in project safety reviews.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Assists staff in identifying safety hazards and potential environmental issues by participating in job hazard analyses, environmental assessments, and root cause analyses.
  • Inspect safety equipment such as eye washes, safety showers, hoods, and fire extinguishers
  • Assist in the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Support safety communication program.
  • Conduct safety surveillances.

Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelors with a 3.00 GPA in Engineering or Science Fields related to safety and industrial hygiene; Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry; those without a related degree must have related industry experience and related certifications
  • 3 years: Laboratory and or operations involved with chemical hazards related to safety engineering
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required



Special Requirements:

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
