We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Human Resources Manager. Sitting at and supporting our Huntsman Advanced Materials Technology Center, this candidate will also support Corporate Functions.

This role requires an experienced HR Manager with a strong generalist background and experience with a full suite of HR skills required to manage a large and dynamic facility. Requires the ability to plan, develop and deliver the HR agenda. Understands business requirements and translates into specific HR initiatives accordingly. Requires ability to understand the pulse of the organization, potential risks, issues and offer solutions/mitigation plans. Scope of responsibility includes approximately 300 associates and contractors located at the HATC site and 500 Functions associates located at the Waterway office. Requires interaction and problem-solving with other global technology sites as well as local and regional HRBP's globally. Serves on multiple site/business leadership teams.

As the HR Manager, you will:

  • Delivery of manpower requirements at HATC and Waterway, including global mobility (expatriate) and all immigration issues (visa and residency applications). Monitor, modify and improve the staffing strategy, job evaluation, competitive compensation analysis, talent bank and succession planning. Includes adapting internal and external best practices and solutions. Interacts globally on staffing strategies across various functional organizations and Technology Centers.
  • Co-ordinates the performance management process for Waterway and HATC. Analyzes and suggests improvements to organizational performance. Encourages a performance-based culture through performance-based reward schemes. Advises on complex individual performance issues, recommending actions that enhance performance and minimize legal risk.
  • Leads all rewards and recognition at Waterway and HATC: career ladders, compensation surveys and analysis, Employee Recognition Awards, salary administration and variable pay. Interacts globally with HR counterparts on compensation and career ladders. Ensures consistency across all business units at HATC and for the Functions associates at Waterway. Provides corporate perspective and overview to Waterway and HATC. Improves existing pay delivery processes, taking into account competitive, legal and business drivers.
  • Leads and coordinates all Training and Development for HATC and Functions associates at Waterway: US Training Council team member; advise management on competence models and how to integrate into other management practices; analyze and suggest Cornerstone improvements and day to day administration; analyze and resolve special training needs for sites; design training classes with the assistance of content experts; deliver all HR initiatives; compliance training; and corporate initiatives identified.
  • Knows and understands the value to human resource management of accurate and relevant data. Improves organizational performance through data management and reporting. Knows HR systems and can use them to deliver a range of data for measurement, information and further analysis. Ensures data integrity: owns and monitors overall data integrity for Waterway Functions and HATC. Reports HR metrics for site and business units.
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of employment law, regulations and practices in order to anticipate, advise and develop plans to prevent and resolve complex issues. Creates plans to address gaps in meeting legislative/legal requirements long and short term.
  • Coaches and mentors members of the HR team. Makes staff development and learning a high priority and provides support to others in creating development plans. Addresses staff performance difficulties.
  • Support business leadership in Organizational and Change Management. Diagnoses organizational and change intervention strategies. Uses multiple methodologies or concept to anticipate and address changing circumstances and goals at Waterway and HATC.
  • Assist in development of and responsible for consistent delivery of HR policies/programs/procedures, including AAP, ePDP, eTime, random drug testing, FMLA/STD (UNUM) and Return to Work.
  • Special Projects as assigned

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and 10+ years of related experience
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related and 8+ years of related experience
  • Must have 3+ years of experience managing the HR function at multiple or a single work location and/or managing a group of HR professionals
  • PHR Certification is a plus
  • Experience in training course development and delivery a plus
  • Must have a level of proficiency with internet, email and Microsoft programs
