Job Description

SGS North America, Inc., The Woodlands, Texas. Define, create, implement, and monitor an effective Personnel Training and Development Program applicable for Fixed PVT Labs and Field Services (FluidProPAL™, RDK, and Sampling/Well Site Analysis);

  • Provide guidance to laboratory technicians and work with global affiliates to support high levels of PVT EOR and Flow Assurance analysis for SGS OGC clients while promoting a culture of quality and service across the Company;
  • Assist in the preparation of a Personnel Training Manual that will apply to the
  • Company's Global Reservoir Fluid Services operations on a global scale, including updated policies, forms and procedures that can be easily incorporated;
  • Perform technical audits of all SGS PVT laboratories; Create, maintain, and update appropriate internal training documentation to deliver effective training on the comprehensive range of standard and customized PVT, EOR and Flow Assurance testing services offered to SGS OGC clients;
  • Provide professional expertise on training matrices and development plans for PVT, EOR and Flow Assurance staff in locations where training has been conducted, and follow up on regular basis;
  • Report overall progress in a timely and concise manner ensuring that necessary support is secured from OGC Business Management and Regional Leadership to address issues impacting on achieving objectives;
  • Ensure that all PVT laboratories follow a maintenance/calibration schedule for all equipment and instruments;
  • Identify internal and external subject matter experts to lead the individual training segments as required; coordinate with field managers to ensure laboratory staff are trained and competent to perform the required tasks;
  • Create training materials for Business Risk Management use as part of the ISO certification process such as SOPs, flow charts, and instructional videos;
  • Audit laboratories to ensure that equipment and staff comply with the SGS global Quality Management System requirements.

Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Technology or a related field plus four (4) years of relevant experience or a relevant associate's degree,
    • plus five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience must include: 4-5 years of experience (depending on degree) with laboratory testing standards for upstream oil & gas laboratories including API, ASTM, GPA, ISO within a PVT Laboratory (as opposed to refinery or other types of labs);
  • 4-5 years of experience (depending on degree) with laboratory procedures used in Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT);
  • Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and Flow Assurance (FA) laboratories with an oilfield service company;
  • 3-4 years of experience (depending on degree) with ISO 9001 certification requirements and documentation;
  • 4-5 years of experience (depending on degree) with laboratory safety equipment and protocols for PVT, EOR and FA laboratories;
  • 4-5 years of experience (depending on degree) with identifying and handling training issues for laboratory staff;
  • 4-5 years of international (outside the USA) work experience (depending on degree) as a supervisor or training manager with emphasis on the Middle East, Africa, and South America;
  • The ability to obtain a valid passport and business visas for travel as a training manager to the Middle East, Africa, and South America.
  • International travel (up to 10%) to Middle East, Africa and South America is required.
