Job description

Mid-level Environmental Scientist/Engineer position to assist with full scope of environmental and hazardous waste remediation services, including assisting with preparation of plans and reports, and conducting field activities. Also, from time to time, assist with preparation of bids and proposals, cost estimating and research and resource management.

Primary Responsiblities -

  • Assist with preparation of planning documents (Uniform Federal Policy - Quality Assurance Project Plan, Sampling and Analysis Plan, Health and Safety Plan, etc.);
  • Assist with preparation of reports for environmental remediation projects (Site Specific Final Report/Remedial Action Completion Report, Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Report, Proposed Plan, Record of Decision, etc.);
  • Assist project managers with various environmental investigations (PA, RI/FS, SI) and remediation projects, including field activities, such as sampling events (soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater), long term monitoring events, oversee geo-technical subcontractors etc.;
  • Assist in preparation of periodic status reports and invoices for clients on various projects;
  • Assist procurement personnel in developing technical specifications, reviewing bids and negotiating with subcontractors.


Requirements

  • Should be familiar with CERCLA, RCRA and TSCA regulations along with other federal and state regulations for environmental investigations, remedial actions, waste transportation and disposal activities.
  • Should have knowledge of environmental characterization, investigation and remediation process and procedures, and environmental regulations related to the same.
  • Experience with Military Munitions Response Program projects is a plus.
  • Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and/or Department of Defense installation projects is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint. Experience with MS Projects is a plus.
  • Ability to perform successfully in a team environment with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Should be willing to travel on short term or long-term assignments.
  • Should be able to pass any detailed background checks that may be conducted by some military installations.


Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
  • ≥ 2 years of environmental or related technical experience is a plus.
  • Professional Certification (PG, PE, PMP or other) is preferred
