Job description

CMT Engineering Laboratories is a materials engineering company seeking a full-time Laboratory Manager for our newly opened Strafford Texas Location. We provide value-based services to clients and are looking for an individual who is interested in building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing.

The position is responsible for directing the overall management of CMT's materials laboratory operations and is responsible for ensuring equipment and staff are sufficient and accredited through coordination with the Vice President of Engineering and the Operation Manager.

* Manages all laboratory operations and schedules in-lab testing work to be performed.
* Evaluates work and make recommendations. Works with the Vice President of Engineering to ensure quality and performance. Analyzes laboratory problems and reports them to the Operations Manager.
* Checks out major equipment and arranges for equipment repairs and calibrations.
* Provides training for technicians in laboratory procedures.
* Reviews and analyzes testing reports.
* Perform employee competency reviews
* Maintains all computer systems, software, and hardware used in laboratory materials testing.
* Performs related work as required.

Qualifications

Education: 2 Years College Level or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 5 years in the materials testing industry. Five years of management experience in materials testing laboratories

Certification: Applicable NICET II Concrete, Asphalt, Soils. TXHMAC Certification SB101 required.
