Job description

Our client, a non-profit organization in the metro area of Tyler, Texas, is seeking a professional candidate who will be responsible for coaching and counseling those in search of education and/or employment. Bachelors degree in social work is required. License: LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is preferred. Experience working in vocation rehabilitation in a non-profit setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize career interest surveys, college exploration, and aptitude testing to develop a client plan


• Assess applicants for training or technology needed and conduct or refer training as needed


• Administer college prep program, including evaluation, funding sources, and collaborating with partners


• Prepares qualified applicants for employment based on demonstrated need


• Maintain frequent communication and monitor progress of clients; develop outside partnerships


• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with staff and other partners

Education: Assist in the preparation for a GED, trade certificates, or secondary degrees, including assessments, aptitude testing, career guidance and training

Readiness: Assist in obtaining skills for career readiness, including assessments, resumes, career exploration, interview skills, and job searches

Skills and education

Proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience

• Bachelors degree in social work is required


• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred


• Bi-lingual is a plus


• Excellent customer service and people skills, as well as a desire to help others succeed


• Integrity, accountability, a positive attitude, and mission-driven


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and common sense


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM
