Job description


Our client, an owner-managed, personal service retail shop in Tyler, Texas is seeking a dependable Customer Service person to assume the Assistant Manager role. The company is well-established, enjoys a good reputation and the opportunity exists for more growth and responsibility. The owners would like someone to commit to the business and be able to fill in for them while they occasionally travel. A flex schedule is acceptable.



Responsibilities



  • Offer ongoing support to manager-owners in a busy personal service retail shop

  • Learn estimating and pricing of services from owners

  • Manage orders, provide one-on-one customized service

  • Assign and schedule work with employees, deliver and collect for completed work

  • Provide POS cash handling and reconciling drawer daily



Qualifications and characteristics



  • A previous career in a personal customer service role, such as retail, is ideal

  • Provide courteous customer service in person and by phone, and interface well with three workers in back office

  • Ethical and trustworthy demeanor, mature, and able to exercise good judgment

  • Must be a fast learner, with interpersonal skills, and able to easily multitask

  • Need a neat presentation, but relaxed dress

  • Mid- to later-career and/or semi-retired candidates would be a good fit

  • Limited need for computer skills, except for email and cash register



Closed six holidays, but not paid. Mon to Fri, 9 to 5:30pm


If part time, minimum four days a week, except full time needed when owners are out. As employee learns the business, full time is more likely.
