Job Summary
Supervises or assists in performance of operating at the job site, including basic maintenance of equipment, handling tools, moving pipe, operating heavy equipment and mixing job materials in a manner to achieve optimal safety, efficiency, quality, reliability, staff morale and teamwork by performing the duties listed in the following section. This is a manual labor, physically intensive position on a crew normally scheduled to work up to or more than 12-hours per shift, and up to 7 days per week.
Weisinger is willing to train the right candidate who has experience in doing basic electrical and plumbing maintenance work. Must be mechanically inclined.
Duties and Responsibilities
Completely review basic maintenance of tools and equipment including service rig, handling tools and supporting equipment (including forklift, air compressor, generators, contractor pump, pipe trailers, ditch witch, air hammers etc.) before, during and after shift. Take care during operations to leave equipment in clean, operable condition.
Leave vehicles, equipment and tools inoperable condition. Immediately report all maintenance issues to pump rig operator or superintendent, which includes asking to have broken tools repaired/replaced. Discontinue use of broken items, and dispose of broken tools that cannot be repaired.
Operate or supervise the operation of supporting equipment such as the forklift, air compressor, generators, contractor pump, pipe trailers, ditch witch, air hammers, etc.
Troubleshoot problems at well head including those reported by customer and those observed while on the job. This includes communication with customer about needs, problems and solutions. It also includes reading pump curve and graphs accurately.
Use or supervise the use of handling tools such as tongs, elevators, electrical tools and pipe wrenches.
Store and care for all tools, spare parts, equipment, materials, and supplies.
Perform or supervise the performance of basic housekeeping including disposal of garbage and organizing job site, crew truck and employee locker before, during and after shift.
Mix or supervise the mixing of drilling fluid, cement and chemicals.
Follow all safety regulations, policies, principles and procedures, which includes all Texas
Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Responsible for ensuring safety of crew members or other individuals on the job site, including but not limited to conducting daily safety meetings.
Immediately notify supervisor about injuries to self or crew members.
Display willingness to learn about service or drilling programs.
Must be available by phone and be readily available to report to work as needed at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned, which may include working in another department as needed.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma, GED equivalent or applicable experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Texas Drivers License.
Valid Texas Class A Commercial Drivers License preferred
Physical Demands
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds assisted.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts at eye level or overhead; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration; mud; grease; diesel fuel; wet and/or humid conditions; extreme heat/cold; direct sunlight; and other outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; and icy surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
