Summary:

In depth knowledge of the health system and has the ability to schedule all services offered by the health system without any support from leadership. Maintains the ability to schedule appropriately, keeping location instructions, patient demographics and insurance requirements in mind without any training or coaching by leadership. Accuracy level and customer service scores must be consistently with the understanding that should their scores dip, an action plan up to and including demotion may occur. The employee must adhere to all employee codes of conduct to ensure their actions are consistent with the mission of CHRISTUS. This position follows departmental productivity and quality control measures as set forth by management.

Requirements:

· High School Diploma

• Maintains an understanding of payor rules and requirements for insurance authorizations

• Utilizes EPIC reports/work queue to ensure all components of the scheduling requirements are met prior to services in an effort to reduce Patient wait times and complaints related to eligibility, authorization or referrals

• Monitors work queue activity to ensure timely resolution

• Documents all activity on the patient account and appropriately documents and gather patient demographic insurance information

• Participates in staff training to increase understanding of specific payor requirements, scheduling protocols and general functionality

• Adheres to productivity measures as outlined by management

• Adheres to quality assurance measures as outlined by management

• Maintains an understanding of EPIC within the scope of the job performed

• Works with the assigned payor to achieve resolution

• Schedules patients appropriately based upon location instructions, patient demographics and payor requirements

• Maintains strict confidentiality

• Directly affects accuracy of patient's account and maximum reimbursement for organization

• Responsible for personal safety and maintaining a safe work environment
