Job description

* Primary responsibility will be to support real estate management and right of way department through property and land rights research, drafting and submitting permit applications, and managing the permitting process from application submission to execution.
* Contract employee will provide support to internal stakeholders and external contractors working to meet state mandated wildfire mitigation goals.
* Research, analyze, and evaluate property rights and issues.
* Respond to property issues and requests from internal and external customers.
* Review and prepare documents such as licenses, agreements, easements, permits and renewals.
* Obtain and/or manage the acquisition of federal, state, railroad and other agency permits as required.
* Input and manage data into company data base system relating to rights acquired for placement of company facilities.

Requirements

* Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external customers and to work effectively with team members.
* Proficient with the use of personal computer applications to support right of way activities.
* Ability to understand and evaluate right of way, easement and other property-related documents, legal descriptions and maps.
* Research, analysis, and evaluation skills in order to gather data on market and property values, placement of company facilities on property.
* May negotiate easements with landowners.

Preferred skills and experience in the following:

* Knowledge or experience with leases, permitting, easements, county recording processes and title reporting.
* Knowledge of right of way principles and familiarity with federal, state or other agency permitting processes.
* Knowledge of the electrical utility industry.
