Summary:

The Sales & Marketing HR Business Partner will serve as the talent champion for customer facing functions. The individual will partner directly with Syneos Health Executive Leadership Team members to include the Chief Development Officer and the Global Head of Corporate Communications & Marketing. This role is responsible for the design, development and execution of talent strategies for employees that are customer facing. You'll have an obsession for Syneos Health Customers, the ability to simplify HR solutions, and a passion to drive results through talent. This role reports to a member of the Syneos Health HR senior leadership team and will be a member of a high-performing, collaborative, and fun HR organization and team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements global human resource strategies to drive organizational effectiveness by evaluating trends and establishing critical measurements for goal attainment.
  • Participate in periodic business planning and review cycles; act as the human capital expert to proactively work with HR Center of Excellence (CoE) teams to identify and deploy HR interventions to meet critical business requirements.
  • Advise senior leadership on people issues:
    • Provide HR observations related to strategy/performance in meetings and one-on-one; formulate HR requirements
    • Advise business leaders on change management, performance issues, responding to employee or community concerns, compliance or ethics investigations, etc.
    • Manage response to senior leadership requests for information, questions or special projects
  • Serves as subject-matter expert concerning HR requirements and regulations related to employment, compensation and employee relations.
  • Deploy talent and development programs:
    • Partner with HR CoE's to deploy talent programs (performance assessment & review, succession planning, development planning). Partnering with senior business leaders and the Learning & Talent Management CoE, conduct learning needs assessments, establish development priorities and promote development resources to employees.
    • Support leaders with advice and available talent tools for employee coaching, mentoring, multi-rater feedback processes, high-potential development, career development counseling, etc.
  • Provides consultation to all levels of management to ensure that company goals are supported through company policies/procedures and other HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Clinical HR Business Partners and Regional HR team members to effectively enable talent-related initiatives for applicable client group(s).
  • Ensure the effective placement and onboarding of senior leadership.
  • Serve as team member or team lead on corporate, cross-functional HR initiatives.
  • Leverage talent analytics to develop effective strategies to make fact-based talent recommendations that will further enable business priorities, employee engagement and retention of talent.
  • Lead implementation efforts for engagement initiatives and succession plan activities for assigned client group(s).
  • Partner with Corporate Communications to communicate effective talent-related leader and employee initiatives.
  • Serve as mentor to less senior HR Generalists and HR Business Partners.
  • Escalate major issues to VP Human Resources and/or HR Center of Excellence leaders when appropriate.
  • Travel to other offices/regions as necessary.

    Qualifications:
    What we're looking for
    • BA/BS in human resources, business management or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience plus moderate, progressive management experience in human resources; graduate degree in Business or Human Resources a plus
    • Prior experience partnering with Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, and other Revenue generating functions. Exposure to Sales Compensation and Planning preferred.
    • Strong level of confidence and leadership presence
    • Thorough knowledge of employment laws, compensation programs, benefits and related laws, and management development programs.
    • Broad business acumen and financial analytic capabilities, has perspectives on the business beyond people.
    • Experience leveraging talent-related analytics to make informed business recommendations.
    • Effective oral and written presentation, documentation and leadership skills with a team-oriented approach are essential.
    • Proven track record in navigating through complex organizations, demonstrable ability to achieve goals through influencing, partnering and developing productive relationships with senior leadership and managers across the organization.
    • Proven ability to work effectively within a global HR Center of Excellence model
    • Demonstrated track record of achieving results that have contributed significantly to the business.
    • Success working in a complex, global environment.
    • A flexible, collaborative approach to problem solving and decision-making is advantageous.
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic high growth environment.
    • Ability to understand complex situations and present recommendations with limited direction which require independent decision making and analysis.
    • Experience in CRO or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
    • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
