Mountain Village School is a nature based program in the village of Stowe. We believe strongly in respectful, responsive relationships with children. We strive to inspire a love and respect of nature in each child.

Once teachers have prepared an environment rich in materials and possibilities, they observe and listen to the children in order to know how to proceed with their work. Teachers see learning as an ongoing progression and consider themselves to learning alongside the children.
• We recognize the power of documentation. Teachers record, document, transcribe, and collect information from the children in a variety of ways. Teachers gain insight into what the children are intending, what they are learning, and where they are headed. This allows teachers to plan for deepening children's learning through additional materials and experiences. They show children how much their work and efforts are valued while also creating an archive that builds the history of the school.

We are currently seeking a full time preschool teacher to join our program. Hours are from 8-4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The lead teacher is responsible for all daily curriculum, communication with families, and building collaborative relationships with coteachers.
