Job Summary:

This position will report to the Vice President Controller. We are seeking an individual with proven skills to serve as a Divisional Controller, Property Management, within a multifamily real estate development and investment firm. This is an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced professional to assume financial management responsibilities at an energetic company. You will be working in a rapidly growing, dynamic, and collaborative environment with the responsibility for providing timely and accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities will include:

Overseeing all aspects of the property management accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Capital Expenditures, and Financial Reporting for the Property Management business sector and its individual entities within that sector.

Collaborate with management in identifying the financial activities that are required for each business entity.

Working knowledge of GAAP and ability to manage internal controls within the area of responsibility.

The primary customer is Operations within Property Management. Good customer service skills, a willingness to train/answer questions/assist as needed to develop budgets and forecasts, and accurate meaningful financial statements in a timely manner.

Coordinate completion of Year-end tax reporting and financial statement audits with outside

accounting firms.

Managing a team of accountants to produce timely, accurate financial statements.

Qualifications:

BS in Accounting CPA or advanced degree preferred

Experience managing a team

Experience with complex real estate transactions

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Experience in working successfully with diverse teams of people

Flexible to work longer hours during quarterly reporting periods

Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Experience with Spreadsheet Server a plus.

Exposure to MRI or other real estate accounting system

6+ years' experience in the real estate industry/Property Management industry highly preferred
