Editorial Assistant, The Leadership Institute's Campus Reform
The Leadership Institute is hiring an Editorial Assistant for its campus news website CampusReform.org.
As America's leading source for conservative college news, Campus Reform serves as a watchdog to our country's higher education system, with a mission to expose liberal bias and abuse on college campuses.
About the Position: The incumbent will provide administrative and research support to the editorial team, reporting directly to the managing editor. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain skills in writing, social media, marketing, and office administration.
Editorial Assistant Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
50% - Research and Reporting
a) Identifying and researching incidents of liberal bias, abuse, and indoctrination in American higher education
b) Writing news stories for publication on CampusReform.org as assigned by the Managing Editor
c) Conducting public records requests and data-driven research to long-term projects
30% - Social Media and Marketing
a) Creating content for Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to increase engagement and reach
b) Maintaining and updating database of media hits
c) Using Google Analytics and other digital tools to track website performance and other key metrics
20% - Editorial Support
a) Assisting editorial team with the Campus Profile series
b) Supporting the editorial team's management of the correspondent program
c) Performing administrative duties to support publication process
Qualifications: This is an entry-level position and training will be provided to the incumbent. Desired qualities and experience include strong organization and written and oral communication skills. The individual should have the ability to handle several projects at one until under deadline.
Education or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; approximately one year's related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: DOE, $35,000 - $45,000
