Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purchase materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure production schedules are met, in an efficient and timely manner, and to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering departments and follow up by expediting materials as needed to meet department requirements.
- Follow processes to evaluate suppliers' quotations using appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
- Research, select, and maintain suppliers who provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct for efficient and cost effective operation of organization.
- Assist with the preparation and review of contracts, bids, proposals, and supplier agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
- Prepare and issues purchase orders and review requisitions. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Collaborate with management team, production team and suppliers to discuss defective or unacceptable material and determine corrective action.
- Create and maintain supplier records. Establish and maintain supplier relationships.
- Review all sales orders and process purchase orders for OEM parts.
- Process and release PO or Job orders for suppliers in a timely fashion
- Verify inventory availability. Support the Warehouse with cycle counts.
- Prepare, maintain, and present reports, including progress reports on purchase orders for daily production meeting. Track, organize, file, and maintain purchasing documentation.
- Close out work orders and process shipping documents for DMR shipments to suppliers after ensuring all quality and costs are properly accounted.
- Track and update suppliers' delivery schedules compared to production requirements.
- Communicate with employees, managers, and suppliers to ensure expectations are managed
- Monitor, review and assess suppliers' production flow to determine bottlenecks and weak points in scheduling.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Qualification:
Must meet the definition of a US person as defined by the US regulations:
o Any individual who is granted U.S. citizenship
o Any individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder)
o Any individual who is granted status as a "protected person"
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in relevant or related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
· Three (3) years' purchasing experience to include inventory control
· Experience in an Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) environment with experience purchasing PC boards, electronic components, and sheet metal.
· Experience with manufacturing ERP desired; M1 experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, which includes verbal, written and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective internal and external relationships to achieve successful results
- Effective problem solving skills using analytical techniques to ensure the successful implementation of corrective actions
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

Pay: $67,500.00 - $77,500.00 per year
