Job description

GA-CCRi is looking for a build engineer grounded in the full software lifecycle, from architecture and design through coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and support/maintenance. Our engineers take cutting-edge machine learning research and build reliable products. You'll help integrate machine-learning analytics, streaming data processing pipelines, and appealing user interfaces into end-to-end mission systems. These tools will be used to provide real-time situational awareness and expose advanced analytics to end users. This is a technical position focused on software deployment and maintenance.

As a build engineer, you will be expected to quickly learn new technologies and languages alongside your project team. Youll be asked to participate in team planning sessions, technical discussions, and peer code reviews. You will also support other software engineers in the development of CI/CD pipelines and deployments. GA-CCRi values engineers who are excited about creating meaningful solutions, working as a team, and technical curiosity and enthusiasm.

Requirements

* Active TS security clearance

Were looking for someone in this role who is:

* Curious and excited to learn new technologies
* Able to coordinate with a small team of engineers
* Excited about understanding our customers needs and mission
* Interested in maintaining and adapting tooling to support software development
* Experienced with setting up CI/CD pipelines
* Comfortable working with Linux systems on a daily basis
* Comfortable with version control and git

Bonus points if you have experience with:

* Agile software development
* AWS infrastructure and tooling
* Database technology
* Distributed analytics and processing
* Geo-spatial data and analytics
* Any of the following technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS, Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Accumulo, Storm, GeoServer
* Any of the following languages: Scala, Java, Go, Python, JavaScript (Angular, TypeScript)

Pay

The expected base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $128,000 per year. Insurance, bonus opportunities, retirement and benefits are in addition to annual base pay.

GA-CCRi maintains and deploys production systems that are in use by hundreds of analysts on a daily basis. We build and develop best-in-class air and maritime awareness capabilities, as well as image-based object recognition pipelines. Our systems process data from numerous streaming feeds where we fuse observations together to form the best possible live view of whats where in the sky, in the sea, or on the ground. We perform additional in-stream analytics to determine not just where something is, but what it is, and what its doing. We also expose the streams and data history in our own user-facing browser-based application for visualization and analysis of this complex, high-volume data picture in a meaningful and performant manner.
