Business Development Manager
USS seeks to hire a Business Development Manager. The candidate shall provide business development support and contract execution to specific accounts/opportunities in the Federal Sector, and other markets as needed. The candidate will be responsible for supporting our competitive position, conveying our capabilities to key customers, and being the expert on healthcare IT services or other federal agency/domain IT services market trends. This position will be based in Abu Dhabi, Emirate will meet with partners and clients outside our facilities and in all the regions as needed. The successful candidate will be the lead for the federal/civilian efforts and be responsible for activities that lead to revenue generation in accordance with organizational target goals. This role will also be focused on assigned priority accounts.
Successful candidates must have a proven track record developing relationships with key customers and closing new business that involves delivering complex solutions to Federal clients. Must proactively engage customers and potential teammates with minimal guidance from senior executives. Must work well with internal corporate staff and program/project managers.
- Key oversight responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Strategic Planning, business capture, and proposal management and support
- Campaign and Account Planning
- Pipeline Development
- Gate Reviews and internal /external coordination
This position will be responsible for the direct quality of account coverage and ensure compliance with company metrics and Constellation West business development process to maximize win and achievement of revenue goals. This position will ensure efficient and results-oriented support to the line from early opportunity identification ID through revenue generation.
The candidate may be required to provide business development support to specific accounts/opportunities in the Federal Sector market, and other markets as needed. The candidate will be responsible for quickly understanding specific customer requirements, supporting our competitive position, including teammates, conveying our capabilities to key customers, and being the expert on market trends.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Initiative
- Manage, sustain, and grow a pipeline of opportunities with a value of more than $70M Proactively identify new business opportunities
- Support overall strategic planning and linking pursuits/capture activities that support the business development metrics for awards, submits, and pipeline.
- Perform market research to qualify new business opportunities, including analysis of customer budgets, capabilities required, current customer preferences, competitive environment assessments, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
- Develop and execute call plans. Provide detailed reports on follow-up activities after plan execution.
- Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.
- Brief business development status to senior management when material changes occur and as required by the Leidos business development process.
- Collaborate with other BD personnel and capture and line management to support cross-enterprise objectives and customer engagement.
- Serve as Capture Manager for selected opportunities, either all the way to award or in the early capture phase.
Desired Skills:
- Must have a demonstrated track record of designing and executing successful Business Development and Capture strategies and achieving profitable revenue growth in federal government contracting work.
- Must have a reputation for being able to work collaboratively with high-performance teams in a fast-paced environment.
- The candidate will have primary military/DoD experience and have previously served as a program manager/line manager before transitioning to the business development field.
- Ability to use automated tools such as Microsoft Office to present ideas, information, and reports.
- Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and highly effective interpersonal skills in order to carry out daily interactions with technical leaders and business executives within the Corporation, Group, Operation, and with customers, industry, and subcontractors.
- Experience in the Middle East or Mena region is required
- DoD Secret Clearance or eligibility to acquire is required.
- CAC Card is required
- Military Rank: Captain or above
- Ready to be deployed if required

- Bachelor's degree in business development or related field
