Job description

REC is looking to hire full time survey/GIS field technicians for clients major contract win in Virginia.

This role involves working on a survey crew in the field, and will be responsible for collecting underground utility data while utilizing Trimble RTK/GPS and electromagnetic utility locating equipment.Field Crews will be opening structures collecting attribute data such as pipe size, material, condition and the depths of structures. Rim elevations will be captured following Standard Surveying practices.

Requirements

Preferred Skills:

* Prior field experience is preferred but not required.
* Ability to use your cell phone to access technical data.
* Ability to provide sketches of work performed.
* Must have basic computer skills such as email and Excel.
* Ability to read utility maps, plans, and as-built drawings.
* Ability to work alone or in a team setting.

Minimum Requirements:

* Must be able to work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, wind).
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
* Frequently lift/move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
* Listen to, comprehend and implement verbal instructions.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy and takes pride in their work.
* Valid Driver's License and ability to be on company insurance.
* Must be willing to submit to and pass drug screen and background check.
