Title: Human Resources Generalist

Pay Rate: $70,000-$75,000/yr.

Location: Richmond, VA- ONSITE

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

Duration: DIRECT HIRE

Job Description

  • Be a trusted employee advocate for front line employees; serve as the first point of contact for employees for all HR-related issues and questions.
  • Be a constant visible presence with assigned client groups to maintain a pulse of the organization and provide feedback and recommendations to department leadership. May require flexible hours to ensure coverage of all shifts.
  • Lead HR process improvement initiatives as assigned; work with other members of the HR team to create and implement consistent HR processes, practices, and policies (onboarding, exiting, staffing, attendance, etc.)
  • Complete all HR transactional responsibilities to include updating HRIS to ensure accuracy of data and completing documentation for proper maintenance of employee files.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner and coach for leadership at all levels.
  • Partner with leaders to develop and implement strategies to drive positive employee relations and effective, 2-way communication.
  • Observe and provide feedback to leaders on how they can be more effective in communicating priorities, setting expectations, providing resources, removing barriers to success, giving feedback (both good and bad), recognizing great performance and holding employees accountable when their performance is not meeting expectations.
  • Partner with department leadership to determine staffing requirements.
  • Work with department leadership to identify and develop key talent within the organization, determine employee training needs and develop, coordinate and/or conduct training.
  • Conduct org designs as required to ensure the organization is right-sized and staffed with appropriate resources to deliver on business commitments.
  • Conduct investigations as required to address employee complaints, violations of policies or concerns related to the ADA, EEOC, Title VII, ADEA, etc.
  • Manage onboarding and exit processes.
  • Support annual performance management process.
  • Assist with annual compensation and merit increase process; conduct salary and wage analysis as needed.
  • Responsible for unemployment requests through vendor, and other actions as needed to maintain HR compliance.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment and labor laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

Required Skills:

  • PHR or SPHR certified.
  • Experience providing HR generalist support in a production / manufacturing environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Four plus (4+) years' relevant Human Resources exp
