Job description

Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, sensor integration, and propulsion test facilities.

Moog is looking to find two Manufacturing Associates to work 1st or 3rd shift in our Galax, VA facility.

* This will be a full time, 40 hour a week position.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

* Perform detail measurements using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, microscopes, etc.
* Able to read customer drawings and prints.
* Track product
* Communicate daily with Quality and Process Engineering on quality issues
* Cross-train in other areas to assist when others are absent
* Creating/updating documentation such as SOPs, checklists, forms, and work instructions
* Ensure compliance to AS9100/ISO, IPC, Military, Space requirements
* Data entry
* Employee will also be required to work on other tasks and projects as assigned by his/her supervisor and operations manager.
* This job requires access to US export-controlled information

Required Qualifications:

* Must have at minimum high school diploma.
* Must have good computer skills and some experience in Microsoft Office Applications
* Ability to read and follow work instructions, charts, blueprints, and use measuring instruments
* Must be able to frequently lift 20 lbs. to 40 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodations
* Able to work flexible hours and overtime when required, including Saturdays

Preferred Qualifications:

* Good written and oral communication skills are a must
* Mechanical aptitude and good dexterity
* Ability to multi-task
* Analytical, detail oriented, quality minded, and organized
* Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly
* Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
