We are seeking an experienced candidate for a full-time Project Manager Environmental Scientist position to assist with Renewable Energy projects in the greater Richmond, Virginia Area. The Project Manager/Scientist will be working in a challenging and variable environment that will include detail-oriented independent work and client interactions. The successful candidate will have the aptitude to succeed in managing multiple projects while supporting business development efforts in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support and manage the performance of technical and environmental studies, assessments, surveys, and inspections for energy projects.
- Support and manage environmental due diligence projects.
- Willing to travel and conduct fieldwork in a range of environments from busy urban areas to remote locations.
- Review and interpret local, state, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
- Prepare reports and communicate results to clients.
- Manage projects and client relationships.
- Maintain project timelines and budgets.
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in an Engineering, Science or Mathematics/related major.
- 5 to 7 years experience in project management for energy-related projects.
- Project/Task management experience.
- Expertise with renewable energy projects, preferably solar in utility-scale environment.
- Experience conducting wetlands delineations and reporting.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Solid Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and other software tool skills.
- Demonstrated capabilities in understanding and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well independently and at remote job sites.
- Ability to manage several projects and work on several tasks at any given time.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Experience working in Virginia is preferred.
