We are seeking qualified candidates for a Sr. Internal Auditor opportunity at our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia. The Sr. Internal Auditor works with the Manager and/or Director of Internal Audit to determine the audit scope and procedures and prepares audit reports for review by management and the Audit Review Committee. The focus of the role is to ensure accuracy of financial information, effective internal controls and compliance with company policies and applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities of the position include:

* Develop and execute audits, including financial, compliance, operational, IT, regulatory and physical inventory audits, to provide objective evaluations of internal controls and processes to identify areas of risk and operational efficiency.
* Lead financial reporting internal control audits for management assessment under Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act ("SOX"); including meeting with different departments to understand key business processes and testing key controls.
* Collaborate with business partners to identify root causes of control failures/exceptions and provide recommendations for improvements.
* Lead kick-off and exit meetings with guidance from the Manager or Director, Internal Audit.
* Plan and assist external auditors with their integrated financial statements audits at HBB including substantive testing and physical inventory audits at distribution centers.

Requirements of the position include:

* B.S. degree in Accounting, or a BSBA degree with a concentration in Accounting; MBA or Masters in Accounting preferred
* Must have at least 5 years of work experience in accounting or internal/external audit; preferably Big-4 work experience
* Must understand U.S. GAAP and best-practice audit techniques
* Exposure and/or experience with SOX and SEC reporting requirements
* CPA and/or CIA eligible candidate; CISA highly desirable
* Proficient at using Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analytics software a plus
* Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills

The ideal candidate can manage and perform audits autonomously and in a timely manner. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess leadership qualities including motivating and/or persuading others.
