Part-Time Instructor of Marketing

The James Madison University College of Business is seeking applicants for Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Marketing. The position is a part-time and renewable starting in 2022 in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities

The position has responsibilities for in-person teaching and maintaining office hours. The department offers a wide array of courses such as Business Decision Making in Modern Society (BUS 160), Principles of Marketing (MKTG 380) for non-majors, Integrated Business Marketing (CoB 300D) for all College of Business students, as well as 18 unique marketing courses for the 1,000+ marketing majors in the program. The marketing curriculum allows students to pursue a broad perspective of the marketing discipline or tailor the course of study within one of two specialized areas: professional sales or digital marketing. Qualifications
At a minimum, applicants should possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution. Relevant professional certifications are a definite plus.

Preference will be given to candidates with relevant work experience and can demonstrate potential to teach two or more of the 21 courses offered by the department (includes BUS 160, MKTG 380, CoB 300D, and 18 MKTG courses). The department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their teaching to the diversity and excellence of the JMU academic community. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to add intellectual diversity to the department, engage successfully with diverse students and colleagues, and help students understand diverse perspectives.
