Job description

We are seeking an organized, experienced Buyer/Planner with a precise attention to detail to join our growing organization. In this position, you will take action on booked and forecasted demand for material and planning manufacturing capacity to meet customer orders process. Manage commodity suppliers assigned by value stream and work with operations to keep product flow moving. You will also track schedule attainment and participate in continuous improvement activities to improve inventory turn metrics and accuracy KPIs.

* Placing sub contract and purchase orders through signals in MRP
* Reviewing booked and forecasted demand in value stream to effectively manage inventory turns and spend in support of organizational metrics
* Identifying quality products in partnership with Quality to sustain supplier performance targets
* Negotiating with vendors, creating LTA's and service level agreements for lead time control and cost
* Preventing material shortages and communicating effectively with manufacturing when schedule disruptions occur
* Allocating material to projects
* Bid/Proposal support with cost and availability and lead time on finished goods
* Production and Capacity planning
* Reviewing and acting on order release and exception messages generated
* Coordinating Bills of Materials in an MRP environment.
* Issuing weekly schedules to manufacturing
* Monitoring deliverables by customer for On Tim Delivery
* Working with Master scheduler for fiscal deliverables and forecasting
* Supporting other operations departments as necessary
