Gannett is seeking a Workforce Analytics Specialist who will have the opportunity impact business results to support short and long-term strategic decisions with an Industry leader in a rapidly evolving media landscape. This role will build and drive analytical capabilities using innovative methods to bring together data from various sources to identify trends, issues, and solutions aligning the overall People strategy with Gannetts strategic objectives.
A key component of success for this position will be driving and executing next generation data-driven workforce solutions that help drive business results and improve the employee experience at Gannett.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting HR Technology or Analytics and have prior experience with statistical computer languages and data visualization tools.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain existing HR Metrics dashboards currently housed within Tableau and build upon current reporting capabilities by developing and implementing new metrics including cost of turnover, headcount and attrition projections
- Continuously design and redesign data visualizations in support of new projects and continuous improvements
- Support the development of a HR Metric and Data dictionary for use by business leaders and HR Business Partners and Partner with HRIS function and Business Partners on data integrity initiatives with HRIS function and Business Partners on data integrity initiatives
- Utilizing advanced analytical insight this position will contribute to developing strategic workforce planning tools, and the development of data-driven capabilities that inform People strategies
- Partner to identify the most critical talent/workforce issues, goals, or objectives that require in depth analysis to identify key trends, drivers and recommendation of potential solutions.
- Leverage data and analytics to solve complex business and talent problems.
- Conceptualizes and conducts advanced statistical analyses to provide proactive and actionable insights and compelling recommendations.
- Generates insights combining internal and external data sources to further enhance decision making at the Executive level
- Develop long range projections to model the cost/benefit of proposed programs/projects.
- Act as liaison to Technology and Finance organizations to build cross-functional data integrations to support data models
- Support cross-functional projects in relation to data integrity, system set-up and implementation of standards in relation to the core HCM
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Human Resources or related field required, MBA or Masters degree in Business Analytics, Human Resource Analytics, Data Science or related field preferred
- 2-3 years of experience working with reporting and analytics required, preferably in Human Resources
- Experience using data visualization software such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Domo
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a distributed team
- Must be a self-starter and be comfortable dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
