Entry Level Environmental Scientist

We are a consulting firm that works with both private and government clients in the environmental remediation and compliance fields. Our work includes environmental remediation, site monitoring, investigation, and hazardous waste projects. We are seeking an entry-level candidate to join our team.

JOB SUMMARY

The position provides an excellent opportunity for applicants to gain experience on a variety of projects including remediation system installation/operation, UST closure, soil excavation, monitoring well installation, soil/groundwater sampling, site investigation, landfill monitoring and hazardous waste management. Work will primarily be in the Hampton Roads Virginia area however travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND QUALITIES

· Provides support to multiple environmental remediation projects, both field and office environment

· Perform various types of monitoring including soil and groundwater sampling

· Able to effectively communicate with supervisors and follow instructions/standard operating procedures as directed

· Team player willing to work with others to accomplish tasks yet also capable of unsupervised work

· Ability to identify and solve problems and accomplish tasks in a timely fashion and safe manner

GENERAL BACKGROUND AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· College degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or other similar discipline and 0 to 2 years of environmental remediation/construction related experience. 40 hour HAZWOPER training and 8 hour HAZWOPER preferred but not required.

· Competent with personal computer based project software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)

· Must pass a physical and background check and random drug/alcohol screenings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
